A Melitta wedge with two drainage holes instead of one, in decent ceramic. The forgiving end of pour-over: hard to stall, hard to ruin.

What goes wrong
- Not preheating the thick ceramic body (temperature crash, sour), grinding fine to "get more out of it" (pools and over-extracts, harsh), overfilling past the filter rim (bypass, weak)
