Cezve / Ibrik (small)
Generic
Traditional Turkish coffee pot for fine-grind boiled coffee.
Cezve / Ibrik (Turkish)
The oldest brewing method still in daily use. Powder-fine coffee heated in water and served unfiltered, grounds and all. No filter means nothing is removed - including the texture.
| Roast | Grind | Coffee | Water | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| light | extra-fine (Turkish) | 7 g | 70 ml | 3:00 |
| medium | extra-fine (Turkish) | 7 g | 70 ml | 3:00 |
| dark | extra-fine (Turkish) | 6.5 g | 70 ml | 2:45 |
Per 70 ml cup. Makes 1–3 at a time.
What goes wrong
- Grinding at espresso fineness (gritty and under-extracted, the grounds never settle), letting it boil (foam collapses, bitter and flat), stirring after the foam forms (destroys it), adding sugar at the end (needs stirring, same result)
No care schedule written for this one yet.
