Switch
Hario
V60 with an immersion valve, two brewers in one.
Hario Switch
A V60 cone with a valve in the bottom. Closed it is a full-immersion steeper, open it is a pour-over, and the interesting recipes use both in one brew.
| Roast | Grind | Coffee | Water | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| light | medium | 15 g | 250 ml | 3:30 |
| medium | medium | 15 g | 250 ml | 3:20 |
| dark | medium-coarse | 14 g | 250 ml | 3:05 |
Per 250 ml cup. Makes 1–2 at a time.
What goes wrong
- Using the V60 grind unchanged (immersion is gentler, comes out thin and sour), forgetting to open the valve until the coffee has cooled (over-extracted, flat), leaving grounds steeping while you fetch a mug (contact time is the one variable that keeps running without you)
No care schedule written for this one yet.
