Flat bottom, three small holes. The fluted paper holds the filter off the wall. The bed sits level, so a sloppy pour still extracts evenly.

What goes wrong
- A paper left unrinsed and unseated folds inward and channels, so extraction runs uneven. A V60-fine grind stalls on three small holes and turns bitter. Letting the bed drain dry between pours chokes the holes with fines and over-extracts.
