Caffeine is a reference value for this drink and brew method, not a measurement of your cup.

Batch Brew technique

  1. Dose 60g of coffee per litre at a medium grind - 90g for a 1.5L batch.
  2. Rinse the paper filter and level the dry bed.
  3. Brew with water at 93-96°C; total contact time should land between 4:00 and 6:00.
  4. Swirl or stir the finished batch before serving - the first and last cups out of an unstirred brewer taste different.
  5. Serve within 30 minutes or move it to a preheated airpot.

Consistency is the whole point: fix dose and grind, then judge by taste or refractometer rather than the machine's markings. A hotplate cooks coffee - never use one.
