Caffeine is a reference value for this drink and brew method, not a measurement of your cup.
Batch Brew technique
- Dose 60g of coffee per litre at a medium grind - 90g for a 1.5L batch.
- Rinse the paper filter and level the dry bed.
- Brew with water at 93-96°C; total contact time should land between 4:00 and 6:00.
- Swirl or stir the finished batch before serving - the first and last cups out of an unstirred brewer taste different.
- Serve within 30 minutes or move it to a preheated airpot.
Consistency is the whole point: fix dose and grind, then judge by taste or refractometer rather than the machine's markings. A hotplate cooks coffee - never use one.
